Sure, the Trademark usually wears this stain, but I have seen similar stains on some Castello grades and seen Trademarks wear the blond. To my pleasant surprise it is rated as a top of the line Trademark grade. Given the sliding scale in place, when it comes to grading, either of the two would have been satisfactory.

But on to the pipe: The first thing which struck me about this charming little liverpool was the immediate sense of lightness in picking it up; despite its rather sturdy proportioning, it feels no heavier than, say, one of Stanwell's more slender Featherweights. Bands of flame-grain and the intricate convolutions of birdseye cover every inch of a paradoxically simple, classical shape.
