Dunhill 1927 Bruyere Apple Shape 65

A very nice "chubby" apple from Dunhill's first decade. It's a very powerful shape, with spherical bowl, stout shank, and old-fashioned taper bit with ivory dot and unusual orific lip, probably specified by a particular customer. Cut from high grace plateaux briar from Calabria, it has good straight grain on one side, and mixed grain on the other. Structurally, the pipe is almost perfect; but the factory stampings were weak,. Only a portion of the patent number, the shape number and the date code are visible.
