Zitat:
"My first purchase of one of these series was a 1988 "book edition" that was an homage to "The Cricketer". Now, I didn't know the book (evidently, it must have been of some importance to the Brits, that this Yank, to this very day, remains unaware of) but (Hot Damn!) I loved the presentation.
Alas! My poor Cricketer! It never would have stood a chance against this Eight Ball "Celebration of Gamesmanship". The total production is limited to a mere 200 sets, equally divided between the Shell Briar and the Dress finish. This Dress version is numbered a hypnotically low '3/100', adding that je ne sais quoi of acquiring one of the first three of a staggeringly limited run. Your journey begins with the removal of a form fitting, protective velveteen wrap that conceals a book style presentation case. Upon opening the case, you will encounter a pipe unlike anything that Dunhill has produced before, a Dress finish eight-ball, complete with a sterling military mount, and a cumberland bit that is fashioned to look like a pool cue. Nestled across from a miniature cue ball and eight ball, that act as holders, your eyes will alight on one of the coolest tampers on this side of the vale; a miniature take of a billiard rake/bridge, complete with its iconic sterling silver cross. But of course! Each set is accompanied by its numbered and hand-signed limited edition certificate, neither you or Dunhill would have it any other way. I can scarcely imagine the reaction of your fellow players, when you pull out this beauty, as you advance to the billiards table at your club. I'm having fun trying to imagine it, nonetheless!
