Einer der wenigen bekannteren Pfeifenmacher aus den 80ern:

Es wird gemunkelt, dass er nach wie vor die ein oder andere Pfeife baut. Ob´s stimmt? Ich weiß es nicht.

hallo Tom,

auf diese Pfeife bin ich selber scharf. So ein Stück hab ich von ihm noch nicht gesehen - da musste ich erstmal meine Option drauflegen.

Das ist ein genial schönes Crossgrain - für den Preis auch ein "must have". ich hoffe, sie ist noch nicht weg.

ESTATE - wenig geraucht, anscheinend ein sehr fruehes Stueck, sehr schoene Maserung.

Juls (Julian Schaeffer) Bent brandy

Julian Schaefer is a notably talented German pipe maker who sold his pieces under the name of "Juls." Though clearly influenced by the Danes and by his confrere Rainer Barbi, he developed his own neo-classical style that is quite distinctive. Here is a very nice example of his work, a rather formal bent brandy. Note the convex rim, the curved shank--which is rounded on one side and curved on the other--and the unusual handcut vulcanite bit. The latter has a turned ornament, forward of which an extended tenon extends to insert into the shank military-tyle; aft of which is a thin, comfortable saddle bit. It's cut from excellent briar, largely straight grained, and is stained an attractive Danish-style reddish orange which will mellow with addtional smoking to a rich amber brown.

It's very lightly smoked, and in outstanding condition in all regards.
